Frequently Asked Questions

We Provide

  • A taxing authority recently contacted me about the taxes I owe. How can you help?

No one likes being contacted by a taxing authority.  We will work directly with the taxing authority for you, and we’ll make sure you are aware of all resolution options available to you.

  • If I hire you, do I have to continue communicating with the taxing authority?

No!  We handle communication with the taxing authority for you. In certain cases, you may be required to be present for meetings or phone calls with the taxing authority, but we will be there with you every step of the way.

  • What can you do to address my tax problems that I can’t do on my own?

Although it’s possible to work with a taxing authority directly, it’s unlikely you will be made aware of all the options available to you.  With your best interest in mind, we will develop a custom strategy tailored-fit to your unique set of circumstances.

  • My Revenue Agent told me my only option is to pay the liability in full. Is that true?

Not necessarily.  Paying off the liability is never a bad thing, but typically there are other options available.

  • My bank account was levied and now all my money is frozen. Is there anything you can do to help?

There’s nothing worse than find out a taxing authority has levied your bank account.  We can take over communication with the taxing authority immediately to determine why the levy was issued and work to negotiate release.

  • I recently found out a tax lien was filed against me and now I receive non-stop calls from tax companies offering their services. What should I do?

There are many scams and disreputable companies who will try to trick you into paying for their services.  If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  Make sure you do your due diligence to know who is on the other end of the phone.

  • A wage garnishment was just sent to my employer. Are you able to stop it?

Garnishments can be stressful and embarrassing and are often more than you can afford. We are often successful in releasing or reducing garnishments by negotiating alternative resolutions with the taxing authority.

  • I haven’t filed my tax returns in years and now I can’t find my W-2s or 1099s. Where should I start?

By authorizing us to represent you, we can gain access to all your income reported to the IRS. This will help ensure your returns are complete and accurate.

  • If my business owes back taxes, can I be held personally liable?

Not all business taxes are personally assessable, but in certain cases personal assessments can arise from past due taxes such as payroll or sales tax. We can guide you through this process, so you have full understanding of any potential personal assessments against you.

  • My return has been selected for audit. What can you do to help?

Not only can understanding and interpreting the basis of an audit be difficult, but it is also incredibly time-consuming to gather the necessary information the taxing authorities are requesting.  We can step in at any time during the audit process, whether you just received notice of your return being selected or are currently working with an Examiner.
